Preparation Guide for Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Certification
Introduction of Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Certification
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized test that is used to measure general verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical writing skills in applicants who want to pursue a graduate degree. This exam is offered in more than 170 countries worldwide.
Graduate admissions officers use the GRE results as part of their criteria for evaluating candidates. The two main components of the GRE are the verbal and writing sections, but some graduate programs require that students take the math section as well. These exams usually consist of three timed sections: two or three scored with different types of questions, and one un-scored experimental section, known as “Section 4.” Each of these sections has multiple-choice analytical writing and quantitative problems which are all included in GRE Dumps. The problem types have a wide range of difficulties, from basic grammar and arithmetic questions to more in-depth logic and English language interpretation.
What are the sections of GRE Test
The verbal section consists of a reading comprehension test that has six passages with accompanying questions and a set of 15 multiple-choice questions directly following each passage. The second part of the section is a math reasoning test that consists of four lengthy word problems followed by two short verbal essays which require the candidates to apply their knowledge from the math section to solving the problem. Unlike the GRE General Test, which can be taken at any time during testing, GRE subject tests are administered only once every year during the official exam period in October.
In the scoring section, the verbal section has a total of 150 points to be allocated in the four sections: 50 points for each of four questions, 10 points in each of three essay questions, and 10 points for each word problem. The math section has a total of 200 points with 100 required to pass.
What is the purpose of the GRE Test
The GRE is used to gauge test-taking ability and potential for success in graduate-level education. The exam allows students to demonstrate their skills in critical thinking and integrated reasoning areas as well as boost their motivation and determination as they peruse their graduate studies or start new careers. Students may also demonstrate a better understanding of English language usage through its verbal section.
The syllabus for the exam is developed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), which also administers the exams. The GRE Subject Tests are taken independently and not as part of “the general test.”
A reduced testing fee is available to students applying to study or work in areas of a specific country/region, low-income persons, U.S. veterans, persons with disabilities, and qualified low-income high school seniors planning to study or teach in an undeserved area which is also covered in our GRE Dumps. Many graduate schools recommend that applicants submit GRE scores when applying for admission. The requirement for submission varies from school to school depending on graduate program requirements and the type of degree pursuit (e.g., master’s degree vs doctoral degree). Most programs require a minimum score of 550 in the verbal and quantitative sections, while some programs may require a minimum score of 700 to 800, and others might require scores above 650.
GRE Score Report
A GRE score report includes: GRE scores on all sections are reported as a single number, which is converted to a scaled percentile. This conversion considers the level of difficulty of each section in relation to the other sections. The scores also are converted to percentiles for grad school admissions purposes. GRE Dumps cover all questions of GRE. The average GRE test taker takes 6-7 hours to complete the exam in 2015. It can be completed in as little as 4 hours if going through all four sections quickly. A portion of the exam is written while the test taker is waiting for other students to complete sections. Thus, it helps to study a little bit, even before taking the test.
GRE Revised Scoring Scale
The 2017 GRE revised scoring scale was released in July 2016 and became effective on January 16, 2017. The new scale increased the maximum possible score from 4200 to 4600, and minimum possible score from 200 to 300 (down from 200 to 800 in the previous version). The maximum scaled score in each section was also changed: The following changes were made to the verbal section: The average GRE exam taker takes 6 to 7 hours to complete the exam. The test can be completed in as little as 4 hours if going through all four sections quickly. A portion of the exam is written while the test taker is waiting for other students to complete sections. Thus, it helps to study a little bit, even before taking the test.
The GRE Subject Tests are taken independently of the general test which consists of three sections (verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical writing). Because these subject tests are not part of the general test, they do not affect the overall score on the general test and a separate fee must be paid for each exam.
GRE Verbal Test
The GRE Verbal Test is the part of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) meant to measure potential success in graduate-level education by assessing one’s skills in critical thinking and integrated reasoning as well as his or her English proficiency.
The Verbal Test consists of multiple-choice questions and two short essays. It is divided into two major sections: one on critical reading and understanding the meaning of words and sentences, and another on understanding how to interpret and analyze information based on reading passages. Each section is made up of a selection of questions including different types of problems such as vocabulary-in-context, sentence equivalence, antonyms, analogies, grammar (e.g., subject verb agreement), reading comprehension (both literal comprehension as well as application), inference, identifying sentence errors, vocabulary usage questions (e.g., identifying traits that are essential to a character’s motivations).
Certification Topics of GRE Verbal Test
The GRE Verbal Test is designed to measure reasoning skills in English and includes a sentence completion section with six passages followed by 15 multiple-choice questions. Our GRE dumps covers the following objectives of GRE Verbal Test.
- Analyzing Argumentative Essays
- The Tone in a Piece of Writing
- Main Idea, Supporting Evidence, Conclusion
Exam Requirements of GRE Verbal Test
The GRE Verbal Test has three required sections:
- Analyzing Argumentative Essays: 2 essays of approximately 250 words each that are designated for reading and analysis in the order they’re presented. Both essays require students to judge the argument introduced by one of two individuals. The first essay is written from a conservative perspective, while the latter essay is written from a liberal perspective.
- The Tone in a Piece of Writing: 100-word passage followed by five questions about how the tone of the passage feels
- Main Idea, Supporting Evidence, Conclusion: 10-point summary question with four answer choices
Exam cost of GRE Verbal Test
In order to register for a GRE General Test, candidates must pay a registration fee of $202. This fee is discounted to only $102 for current military personnel and for students attending an ETS-accredited college or university.
The cost of the exam itself is 205 USD if taking it in both the verbal and math sections at once, or $150 if taking just one section.
GRE Quantitative Test
The GRE Quantitative Test is designed to measure reasoning skills in mathematics, including comprehension of both the verbal and graphical representations of information. The exam is traditionally composed of three sections that are scored separately: two or three scored with different types of questions and one un-scored experimental section. These questions have a wide range of difficulty levels that range from basic grammar and arithmetic to more difficult logic-based problems.
Certification Topics of GRE Quantitative Test
Section 1: Two, sometimes three, quantitative sections (non-calculator only) with 30 questions each; students have 50 minutes to complete these sections Section 2: One verbal/quantitative section with 20 questions in 35 minutes Section 3: One unpaired section containing an experimental question on graph interpretation in 30

Analytical Writing is a type of writing that usually requires students to demonstrate their understanding of a given topic or text. It’s often associated with argumentative and persuasive writing, and can also be focused on creating analysis rather than purely reporting.
It often involves summarizing information from the text, writing about what the author meant when they wrote it, analyzing the author’s ideas or style, presenting an argument for why certain ideas are true or false, summarizing events in order to draw conclusions about them, etc. This process can take place in several different parts of an essay: introduction, as well as Conclusion, are common areas where students might need to write analytical essays; however, these essays could also be found scattered throughout other parts of the essay as well.
The GRE Analytical Writing section comprises two tasks, one in which the candidate must write an argumentative essay about a given topic, and the other where they give advice to a person with specific goals and interests. The first task is always set up with a scenario that requires candidates to analyze and assess some matter, while the second task requires them to give reasoned advice or an opinion about the topic presented which are all included in GRE Dumps. These two tasks combined make up for 30% of a candidate’s total score on this section.
The GRE Analytical Writing section has two types of questions: In order to achieve a perfect score of 4 (out of 4) on a GRE Analytical Writing Test, candidates must score a minimum of 1 or more on each question. The following table shows the number of correct responses necessary to achieve this score.
These questions can be found in any section—the only exception being the General Test, where the section is identified by an indicator at the start of every essay. This format allows test takers to take advantage of any general knowledge they might have and also helps them make better use of their time in answering the questions.
